This is my parents in October 1972.
My Dad had been married fewer than two years. He’d spent a year in Vietnam, gotten the Distinguished Flying Cross, and made it home unscathed. He had a Corvette and raced motorcycles. He was cool.
Til I was born 3 years later and fucked it all up.
Happy birthday, Pa. Stay cool forever.

I’m glad I avoided the whole family thing and that I get to spend all of my money on beer and video games.

Somebody should have told him that it’s okay to put you up for adoption… then you’d be somebody else’s problem!

Ha! Now I see where you get your height and feindishly good looks…and your fetish for prairie skirts.
Happy birthday to your pop.

@headbang8, I don’t think they did, but we did end up getting a rockin’ Country Squire station wagon with wood paneling.

Yeah, the Distinguished Flying Cross is way cool. Can’t ever take that away from a guy, so that pretty much cements his coolness for all time, kids mini-vans or not

I think his coolness rating fell through the floor when his kid grew up to be a blogger.
(your dad was HOT! I love a man in uniform. Unless it is my brother, cause Ew.)

Very cool picture. It’s possible some of his cool quotient rubbed off on you. Just possible… Happy belated birthday to your dad. Great tribute.
